SoundClick vs ReverbNation

SoundClick is a nice site which does all the usual – upload and sell music (payment into PayPal), and I thought the automatic banner creation was a really cool touch. Problem is, they look great here > SoundClick Banner Page for Jonathan Scary but they display like this when you use the code copied from the SoundClick website in a WP blog post (uuggh! – sort out your ⟨divs⟩ people!):

This one, on the other hand, from ReverbNation works perfectly:

ReverbNation seems to offer much more – not only does it supply widgets, banners, players, fan base management, statistics (widget views, plays, downloads, fans), but crucially distribution through iTunes, Amazon MP3, etc. etc.

Added a couple of WP plugins to the site tonight (thanks Mark!) and the Orange Coffee theme. Still lots to do!

Playing around with Cubase this evening and also posted a link to Bad Habit on the BeatMaker forum. (Wonder if anybody will comment?)

A scary thought

OK, so now I have a site. I just need some content.

For some time I have been looking for a home for my fat-fingered “creations” and I guess you’ve been unlucky enough to run across it. Still, now you’re here, let’s get acquainted.

My music is experimental. The approach may not be unique, but the compositions are original. There’s seldom a plan. No end game. More likely, an unexpected sound created during a rushed edit, or a sequence vastly improved by the unplanned deletion of a rim shot. You could call it digital serendipity. But unless you were the lyricist in a 1960′s prog-rock band, you probably wouldn’t.

Whatever you call it, I don’t mind. The fact that you’ve clicked “play” is enough. If you decide to hang around until the end of a tune, that would be tremendous.
