Crush

5 April 2009 in Music, Production

I think I’ve taken this one as far as I can now. Spent some time Friday night and Saturday working on a couple of extra layers – the offbeat muted guitar and an additional distorted guitar. I’ve also replaced one of the drum tracks with BFD2. Oh, and it has a name now – “Crush”.

Ready for mastering?

  1. Sounds great. Love the heavy bass drum. Excellent build and end riff. How did you get that guitar sound?

  3. Hi Pete,

There are actually four guitars (virtual instruments), four bass VSTs and a variety of filters and other FX. Some of these ship with Cubase and others are free VSTs which I’ve downloaded from various sites, but principally KVRAudio.com including:

    • DaTube Amp Simulator (which ships with Cubase) using a preset called “NuMetal”)
    • CrayonFilter (a free VST plugin)
    • CamelCrusher (another free VST plugin)
    • A range of reverb and delay FX.

Really pleased you like it! And thanks for feedback.

So, is it ready for mastering do you think?
