New dev riff
9 February 2009 in Music, ProductionSidelined the loop I was working with last week as I couldn’t develop it any further. I’m sure I’ll return to it at some point, but felt it better to start with something new rather than continue barking up that particular tree.
Not sure what direction this will take, but here’s what I’ve been working on tonight.
Also, really looking forward to hearing how Pete (Topfloor Music) has mastered Capitulation, though I fear the version I’ve sent him might have some of the levels incorrectly mixed – synth pads too high, drums too low. Will have a listen tomorrow morning.

Not really sure what’s up with DivShare tonight. Doesn’t seem to like this file.
Aha, working again now. Listening to this again this morning, not really so sure. Will leave it for today and come back with fresh ears later.
I’ve worked on this for a while this evening, adding the “Indian Summer” synth pad, tidying up the bass line and building the end of the intro with a reverse reverb snare hit.
Mixing down to MP3 has muffled the bouncing bass quite a lot so I think I’ll try a couple of other presets or FX to see if I can lift that out of the mix a little more.
Older version deleted.
Loving this one man. Really clean and wonderful work .. WD.
Cheers Hunz – really appreciate the feedback. Still working on this (Indian Summer), but think it’s nearing completion now. Thanks for stopping by ;-)
