Don’t compose when you have the flu
23 February 2009 in Music, ProductionTackling a debilitating case of man flu head on, I plugged in the Axiom and put together 40 bars over the weekend. The problem with the result (and I’m blaming my confused state of mind) is twofold:
- In my very last post I made it clear that I don’t want to go down the trance path. Not forty eight hours later and I am wrestling with a 24 bar intro which has me reaching for a packet of glow sticks. [Right down to its ropey four bar, quarter note snare fill pimped with predictable phaser and "party in the basement" EQ!]
- More importantly, as the bass makes its entrance (bar 25), the feel changes so completely that I either have two pieces here or far more likely, none at all.
I’m too embarrassed to upload the MP3. Now that’s scary.
