Enough already!

It’s the last time I edit and upload this file. I promise! I’m going to start producing something new, but without a midi controller, that’s a little daunting. This file has been created note by note with the pencil tool and it’s a chore. Still, here we are (for the very last time): a couple more tweaks to my very first Cubase mixdown including fixing the bum note in the bass pattern.

“Known unknowns” is a predictable choice for a spoken sample, but I wanted to see how quickly and easily I could import and edit a video file from You Tube and it was the first thing to come to mind. Sorry!

  1. There’s a long way to go – that much I’m very clear about. That said, I’m reasonably pleased with the results given the objectives:

    • to create an audio file with multiple tracks;
    • to import and edit a spoken-word “sound byte”;
    • to apply standard FX such as flange and delay;
    • to mixdown, convert to MP3 and upload to the blog – thanks DivShare!

    I want to move on to something darker and more contemporary now that some of the groundwork’s been done. But I also want to learn much more about what’s “under the hood” in Cubase. Can’t wait to get my hands on that Axiom!!!
